Mindful Morning Routine

Image
Often we think that this week is "starting fresh" week,  and with it come a few things you can use to start fresh in any moment of your life. The way you decide to start your morning can have a major impact on how the rest of your day will go. You can start your day randomly each morning if you want, but creating a meaningful morning routine may be the better route to take if you're looking for the most productive and stress-free use of your time. Every moment is an opportunity to start fresh, to become fully awake to our lives in the present moment and let go of the past. In fact, to become fully awake to the present moment with …being mindful itself to let go of the past. In every moment that we're mindful, we've decided to live our lives most fully and have chosen freedom instead of the chains of the past. And this doesn't have to be something specific like a relationship or difficult challenge, it can be anything…simply anything… But at times that can be e...

Stop! Fearing the worst...live in the moment

“ The day you stop worrying will be the first day of your new life; anxiety takes you in circles, trust in yourself and become free.” — Leon Brown   Tired of predicting the future? It might be that fearing the worst, is robbing you of the present…   You notice a dark brown spot on your forehead. You lean closer to the mirror and examine it closely. It is dark in color, with irregular borders. It’s melanoma, You are thinking. As You brush your teeth, You imagine your final days. Your friends visit, bring you flowers and sit by bedside you. You imagine your funeral take place in a beautiful park by your house. People are huddled in small groups, speaking in hushed tones. So sad, she was so young. You put away your toothbrush and your heart is flopping around like a fish on a pier. You reach up and touch the spot. And it rubs off. It was hair dye.   It’s 7 pm on a weekday and a loved one is late home from work. The...

Connect With Yourself

Image
Connecting with yourself is a monumental and life changing event. Loneliness and desperation are only possible when we have lost touch with our beauty within. Once you connect with yourself, it is impossible to be lonely or desperate. ————-Bryant McGill  What does it mean to be connected with yourself?  For me, connection means feeling in alignment with my highest self, it’s feeling capable, strong, loving and compassionate. It’s a sense of knowingness and wisdom that is completely unique to me. Lately I have been searching for more and more ways to feel some sort of connection to myself, perhaps because, I have been feeling disconnected. It’s so easy to go through the ins and outs of life and forget some of the important things. Connection for me is important. I’m not going to judge myself for feeling disconnected, but instead, focus on things that I can do to get back in touch with myself. I had a very poor relationship with myself. I was always striving fo...

Be kind to yourself

Image
There’s no reason to steal your own sunshine. ———- Laci Mosier Why am I so harsh on myself? I’m asked this question way too often from my clients  — self-reflection makes them realise they are ruthless on themselves. You have to look good and feel good to conquer the world, everyone will tell you. What’s driving everyone anxious is this: no matter how hard you try, no matter how successful you are, no matter how good you are — it’s never enough. Stretching beyond your comfort zone is one thing; being harsh on yourself is another. Our culture is rooted in high self-esteem — you have to be special, unique, and above average. This pressure is false pretentious. By trying to become special in the eyes of others, we turn acceptance into a moving target. We never fulfil other people’s expectations, neither our own. Now the main point is that how am I going to be enough for myself….hmm How I can be kind to myself instead of being harsh….. When the above questions arise...

Be Kind

Image
♥️♥️Kindness is the state of caring about other people’s well-being and taking action to help make other people’s lives better and happier.  We can define kindness as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Affection, gentleness, warmth, concern, is some of the caring words that are associated with kindness. While kindness has a connotation of meaning someone is naive or weak, that is not the case. Being kind often requires courage and strength. Kindness is an interpersonal skill. It is social glue that allows us to connect with others and build meaningful relationships with them. When someone does something kind for us, we like them more and we want to cooperate with them more. When we do something kind for someone, we earn their trust and respect, and we feel better about ourselves for being a good person. Kindness is a reciprocal relationship. It becomes a cycle that strengthens our bond with friends, family, lovers, co-workers, and acquaintances. ...
